In the interests of providing our workforce with health and wellbeing advice, De Bruyn’s has invested in a preventative maintenance challenge program being delivered by Healthseek. During the first two weeks of May 2013, employees are encouraged to undertake a quick health check, similar to a first level preventative maintenance program that we run on our trucks, trailers and plant.
Employees can then sign up to the six month depot challenge where they will encourage themselves to achieve healthy eating, drinking and exercise goals. Each week they will earn points which are tallied up at Depot level and the Depot with the most points at the end of the six month period will be awarded the De Bruyn’s Healthiest Depot Plaque.
Whilst this approach is important from the perspective of a healthy workforce, it does help to reduce injuries and, most importantly, encourages our people to enjoy good quality lives outside of work. It is about working to live, not living to work.
