Kris Maxwell recently competed in the WorldSkills National Competition held in Perth in the Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Category. Out of the 16 competitors from around Australia that competed in this category , we are thrilled to announce that Kris won gold! Kris will now head to San Paulo, Brazil in August 2015 to compete against the worlds best heavy vehicle mechanics in the WorldSkills International Competition.
Kris began his apprenticeship with De Bruyn’s Transport in February 2010 and it was clear from the start that Kris was no ordinary apprentice! By June 2012, Kris had completed his Apprenticeship and in October 2012, Kris began his Certificate IV in Automotive Technology which he completed by June 2014.
Throughout his apprenticeship, Kris was mentored by Damien Allison (Maintenance Manager) and Casey Pointon (Workshop Supervisor) and it is no doubt that their guidance and knowledge has helped Kris become the best in his field.
Kris is a fantastic role model for all apprentices and we are so proud of not only him, but what he has achieved.
