Our Value For Safety

The De Bruyn Group of Companies has used its extensive knowledge base and research capabilities to build safety policies and procedures tailored to the variety of work we do. Underpinning all of this is our commitment to an ISO31000 approach to Risk Management and TruckSafe, specifically the elements regarding effective management practices for Fatigue, Speeding, Mass, Dimension, and Load Restraint and Vehicle Standards and Maintenance Management.

One of the key focus areas for us has been near-miss/incident reporting. We encourage early reporting, with our investigations being focused on causation and learning rather than blame. Our investigations are undertaken by an Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) qualified Lead Investigator who focuses on closing gaps and communicating learnings. In addition, our Investigator spends a significant amount of time researching and understanding human behavior and how this contributes to risks, hazards, and the implementation of appropriate control measures

Additionally, we have implemented a strong internal audit program where everything from license and pressure vessel expiries as well as processes through to inductions are monitored and refreshed when required. This helps us to close gaps, refresh procedures, and generally provides an important layer of governance and transparency to what we do. In short, it links back to our goal of ‘Safely Delivering the Goods’.
